Online training courses

My methodology is an engaging mix of different learning tools.  This will be a stimulating and genuine interaction between practitioners in different parts of the world through real-time, interactive training by video-conference (Zoom) and interactive online tools.

 

You will learn through taking part in:

  • Facilitated reflection on real life professional experiences

  • Games and laughter! 

  • Creative, art-based activities 

  • Role-play and visualisations

  • Exploring case studies

  • Individual, pair and small group activities

  • Mini- projects and presentations

  • Practising new skills and tools and receiving encouragement and feedback from me and the rest of the group

It is a priority for me to create a supportive, warm and open atmosphere amongst participants.  I will share with you what I know but you will also learn a great deal from each other.

Learn the basics of applied anthropology to enable you to live in another culture and work with people from many cultures with more ease and satisfaction from better undersanding their world-view.

Learn simple activities you can use on a regular basis with your team members to set up relationships of trust, mutual understanding, respect and cooperation, and to resolve small tensions smoothly so they don't get bigger and impact on team and project performance. 

Overcoming conflict within a team or between teams

Learn and practice facilitating activities to use when staff members or teams are in conflict.  These simple activities will enable you to support your team to overcome anger, build trust and cooperate better.

Basic psycho-social support for your staff team

Learn simple art-based participatory activities for supporting the psycho-social well-being of your team.  These tools are useful to use on an ongoing basis but may become even more important at moments of increased conflict and crisis.

Practical peace for working with community members

Storytelling as a tool for generating dialogue between people who are different

Learn simple tools you can integrate into project activities to enable constructive dialogue and empathy building between community members (e.g. men and women, children and adults, people of different group identities).

Mobilising local arts and culture to build social cohesion

​

Explore how to mobilise local traditions of song, dance, theatre and art as a means to engage with community members, enable attitude change and encourage social cohesion.

Using art and empathy to provide psycho-social support for community members

​

Explore and practice using a range of art-based techniques for enabling community members to express themselves and be heard by others. This approach creates a powerful healing space and is effective for any age and any level of literacy.
