Outline

In this training you will learn simple activities you can use on a regular basis with your team members to set up relationships of trust, mutual understanding, respect and cooperation, and to resolve small tensions smoothly so they don't get bigger and impact on team and project performance.

Objectives of the training: To explore and practice

  • using tools to enable teams to regularly share their challenges and achievements with each other;

  • leading strengths-based, participatory team meetings;

  • integrating playfulness and creativity into the meetings and culture of the team;

  • an end to blame, accusation and judgment by embedding constructive and compassionate communication within the culture of the team;

Training format and time commitment:

  • Participatory whole-group activities to explore each team-building tool, individual reflection through drawing and writing, pair-sharing and group discussion

  • Small groups of 3-5 people

  • 2 hour live-sessions on Zoom over 4 weeks

  • Individual reflection activities and group work between the live sessions (you will need to allocate 1 hour per week)

  • Register to hear about when this course is next running

  • Blank paper & some different colour pens;

  • A notebook

  • A strong-enough internet connection to participate in the workshop on Zoom with the camera and audio on;

  • A quiet, private space in which you can focus.

Overcoming conflict within a team or between teams

Outline

In this training you will learn and practice facilitating activities to use when staff members or teams are in conflict.  These simple activities will enable you to support staff to overcome anger, (re-)build trust and encourage cooperation.

​

Objectives of the training: To

  • Explore the core ideas of conflict and conflict transformation in a team/ organisational setting;

  • Understand and be able to use transformational listening, questioning and reflecting tools with staff in conflict;

  • Explore and practice using creative tools for enabling staff to recognise each other's strengths and challenges and develop deep empathy for each other;

  • Explore and practice using participatory tools to enable staff to come up with their own solutions for their challenges.

 

Training format and time commitment:

  • Scenario and case-study exploration, participatory activities, individual reflection through drawing and writing, pair-sharing and group discussion

  • Small groups of 3-5 people

  • 2 hour live- sessions on Zoom over 4 weeks 

  • Individual reflection activities and group work between the

live sessions (you will need to allocate 1 hour per week)

Basic psycho-social support for your staff team
*Running June 2022*

Outline

In this training you will learn simple art-based participatory activities for supporting the psycho-social well-being of your team.  These tools are useful to use on an ongoing basis but may become even more important at moments of increased conflict and crisis.

​

Objectives of the training: To

  • Understand psycho-social support and recognise the role that you as a manager can play in enabling your team members to be well;

  • Develop an increased awareness of feelings, needs and behaviours (for yourself and your team members);

  • Identify the coping mechanisms your staff are already using and explore how to encourage those mechanisms that are nourishing for their emotional, mental, physical and social well-being;

  • Identify the local/ cultural resources for psycho-social well-being and explore how to enable staff to draw more on these;

  • Explore and practice leading participatory activities in which staff can find relief and connection through expressing and being heard;

  • Experience and practice leading mindfulness and body-based activities to enable staff to calm and ground themselves; 

  • Participate in and practice facilitating activities to strengthen connection, trust and belonging through team-work;

  • Explore how to integrate creativity into staff meetings to encourage a sense of agency, playfulness and confidence amongst team-members;

Training format and time commitment:

  • Participatory art and empathy based activities, individual reflection, pair-sharing and group discussion

  • Small groups of 3-5 people

  • 4 x 2 hour sessions on Zoom on June 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th at 14h00 Central European Time; 1pm UK Time; 6.30pm Myanmar Time

  • Individual reflection activities and group work between the live

  • sessions (you will need to allocate 1 hour per week)
